Importance of Targeting University Campuses

When people talk about the challenges that this planet is going to face over the coming decades, the generation studying at colleges and universities all over the world are the ones that will be enduring them. Global temperatures rising, plastics causing irreparable damage to ecosystems, and wide-scale environmental degradation are just a few of the potential problems that face this generation. Engagement in sustainable practices is vital.

Whilst those who study the environment and sustainability may have more awareness, engaging all students at universities in many of the environmental issues that are going to affect everyone at this age is important and advice on alternative behaviours

So if you’re reading this and you’re either working or a student at Plymouth University then get involved with what’s going on during Green Week on campus. Bring reusable cups for that early morning coffee that’s going to get you through lectures and reduce your environmental impact.

If you’re reading this and you’re not at Plymouth University, or have never heard of it, there’s still lots you can do! So many coffee shops are happy to use reusable cups, and many are offering discounts to encourage more people to use reusables. There is so much that everyone can do, and many changes can take minimal effort. Even as I sit here writing it I know I’m not perfect when it comes to living a more sustainable lifestyle, but changing habits and working on making just little changes is vital to creating a sustainable future.
